Ourabura is an independent bridal and demi-couture atelier based in Budapest, creating made-to-order wedding dresses and contemporary bridalwear for those drawn to beauty with character.
We believe what you wear on your wedding day and other special occasions should feel personal, unexpected and unmistakably yours. Our pieces are designed for people who want something beyond traditional bridalwear: considered silhouettes, distinctive details and a sense of ease that feels true to who they are.
The name Ourabura is inspired by the ouroboros, an ancient symbol of cycles, transformation and renewal. It reflects the way we see clothing: not as something disposable, but as something that can evolve, carry meaning and become part of your story.
This philosophy began with a circular approach to fashion and continues to shape the way we work today. We create only when there is someone to create for, selecting materials thoughtfully, with a strong focus on natural fibres, and keeping excess to a minimum. For us, conscious making is simply part of creating with intention, not a separate philosophy.
At Ourabura, a wedding dress does not have to look like a wedding dress. And it does not have to be worn only once. A bridal piece can become part of your wardrobe, evolve with you and live beyond the wedding day.
That is why Ourabura exists in the space between bridal and fashion - where the intimacy of a one-of-a-kind experience meets the freedom of contemporary design.
About our founder: meet Vera Burany
Vera’s journey has taken her from studying fashion at Edinburgh College of Art and NCAD in Dublin to graduating from MOME in Budapest.
Along the way, she has always been drawn to the same question: How can making clothes become a more human experience?

For six years, she was part of the Pinkponilo team in Budapest, where she led garment-making workshops for thousands of participants and created bespoke pieces for a wonderfully diverse range of bodies and personalities. Working so closely with people taught her that the best clothes don’t just fit a body: they fit a person. Creating an intimate, open and safe space where everyone can feel comfortable has been at the heart of her work ever since.

In 2022, Vera founded Ourabura, creating a space for personal, one-on-one experiences around clothing. The next year, she took a step back from the atelier and moved to Berlin, where she spent three years working in sustainability innovation.

Now, she's back in Budapest and Ourabura is entering a new chapter. Bringing together everything Vera has learned, from making and tailoring to sustainability, experimentation and working closely with people. Finally, Ourabura is returning to what matters most: creating clothes that feel like you, and bringing a little more joy into everyday life.
